Genevieve Alison Jane Moyet is een Britse zangeres/songwriter, geboren uit een Franse vader en een Engelse moeder. Ze wordt op 18 juni 1961 geboren in Billericay.

Haar eerste drie Top 40-hits scoort ze in 1982 met de band Yazoo. Op dat moment volgt Moyet een opleiding tot pianostemmer, die ze vanwege het succes voor gezien houdt. Met Yazoo maakt ze twee albums en in augustus 1984 scoort ze haar eerste solohit: Love Resurrection. In 1985 haalt ze de top 6 met That Ole Devil Called Love, Moyets grootste singlesucces in ons land.

De laatste keer dat Moyet zich in de Top 40 meldt, is in 1991, met This House. Daarna brengt ze nog verschillende albums uit en staat ze in musicals als Chicago.
