Deze rockband is afkomstig uit Rome, Italië. De band werd in 2016 opgericht door Victoria De Angelis en Thomas Raggi en werd later aangevuld door Damiano David en Ethan Torchio. De bandnaam is verzonnen door de half Deense Victoria. Måneskin is Deens voor Maanlicht.

In 2017 werd de band landelijk bekend door hun deelname aan het elfde seizoen van X Factor. Ze wisten de tweede plaats te behalen. Hun debuutalbum II Ballo Della Vita verscheen een jaar later. In 2021 volgde het album Teatro D'Ira - Vol. I.

Op 22 mei dat jaar won de band met het nummer Zitti E Buoni de 65e editie van het Eurovisiesongfestival dat werd gehouden in Rotterdam. Het was pas de derde keer en voor het eerst sinds 1990 dat Italië het Eurovisiesongfestival won.

Het nummer I Wanna Be Your Slave is afkomstig van hun tweede album Teatro D'Ira - Vol. I, maar werd niet als single uitgebracht. Toch is dit nummer helemaal viral gegaan dankzij hun deelname aan het Eurovisiesongfestival. Uit hun X-factor periode komt de cover Beggin'. Dit nummer krijgt in de zomer van 2021 een enorme boost en levert een hit op. In oktober lanceren ze de single Mamamia.

Tijdens de finale van het Eurovisiesongfestival van 2022 presenteerden ze hun nieuw single Supermodel. Begin oktober brengen zij hun single The Loneliest uit. Aan het begin van 2023 weten ze niemand minder dan gitarist Tom Morello te strikken voor het nummer Gossip.
