Begonnen als de Jackson Five in 1969 onder het Motownlabel verhuisden de broers in 1976 naar het Epiclabel, terwijl Jermaine achterbleef bij Motown. Nu heette het viertal The Jacksons en scoorden Michael, Marlon, Randy en Tito grote hits met Shake Your Body, Blame It On The Boogie en Torture. Can You Feel It uit 1981 was hun grootste hit en kwam tot nummer 2 in de Nederlandse Top 40. In 1989 scoorden ze hun laatste hit met Nothin' (That Compares 2 U). Michael maakte toen geen deel meer uit van de groep. Sinds Michaels overlijden in 2009 treden de broers soms nog op.
